No, they are pukka. We have had them for over 3 years now and my sister (who put us onto them) for 12 years. We buy more from the good food show each year as they generally have special deals. The UK distributor is based in Nuneaton. Here is a link.

They are by far the best pans I have ever had and will last a lifetime.

Thanks for that my favourite Piggie.

They look really good. Are they very heavy or lighter than le cruset? It's an avenue worth going down for a browse anyway.
Lots of love

much lighter, but heavier than stainless steel.

Mrs Piglet has finished her first fag free day at work successfully, even though she had an ECDL test to do.

I am very proud of her so far, not forgetting you two lovelies Grockster and Lizzie.

Keep it up now.
Kindest regards Piglet

I can remember when my wife stopped smoking she was absolutely unbearable for about a fortnight. Thought that would cheer you up piglet. I'm a very patient sort of a person but it got that bad i started to make room in the freezer. But after the two weeks it just got easier and easier. So congratulations so far young ladies and stick at it, we are all proud of you so far. Must go now and have a lovely nice beautiful fag. Sorry for that but luckily i have never smoked.

Kind regards a very understanding Old Herbaceous.

Naughty oldherbaceous, slap slap!!! Making room in the freezer. A large hole and garden lime in a remote area works better

Thanks for that Piglet. The pans i've got now are crap so need new ones anyway. I might as well treat myself. I've bookmarkes the site you gave me for future reference.

Is Mrs P ok? The first 2 days are the worst, after that, it's will power cos the addictive bits are out of the system. Give her a cuddle from me and the Grock
Lots of love

Go for it you lot.
I gave up 30 years ago when my then 2 year old son had a crayon "cigarette" in his mouth. I'd tried lots of times before and not lasted. The thought of him thinking if mum did it , it was ok was motivation for me. I found that I got a liking for proper coffee and that seemed to help with craving.
Your circulation will improve straight away along with your cash flow. More money and more energy for the Lottie. Can't be bad.
We're all rooting for you. Best of luck.

Well done new non-smokers. Hope those men aren't too traumatised by your hormones and tempers.

My mum had Prestige copper bottoms pans for a wedding present she still has the omlette pan, so 45 years of use it must be good value. However, you may not be able to find them now! I have fond rememberances of polishing the bottoms on a wet weekend.....don't know why because the first time they were used again they were back to normal.

Whatever you go for, try to keep clear of pure Aluminium as this is currently being linked to Alzheimer's, try to buy 'encapsulated' aluminium. I.E. the Aluminium is encased in stainless steel.

Good luck and keep it up!

Hi Guys

How are you doing Lizzie and Grock? I was doing ok for most of the day. It hit me (hard) and I had a really big craving at about 4.30. Then when I got home I saw that earlier message that Piglet had written about me and that made me cross as he only woke to say goodbye this morning before I left for work, so it was all untrue. I was in a happy mood but it doesn't take much to trigger me off when I am craving the evil weed.

My daughter Sarah and I went to my sister Jackie's house. Jackie is a hairdresser and she cut our hair.

My cravings for a cigarette were very strong this evening (still are). I think I will have to go to bed now before I am tempted to go to Tescos. I know I will be glad in the morning that I made it through a whole day.

Good night to one and all. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Grock and Lizzie. I am really grateful that our withdrawal symptoms aren't painful, like a heroin addict's are.

Mrs Piglet

Piglet is a pig looking for sympathy because right now he's not the centre of attention, Miss Porcas is in the limelight, oh, and he likes to make people laugh  so don't be too hard on him.

Keep going you lot, we're all cheering you on and just think, in a year's time when smoking is banned just about everywhere, you'll be able to go out for dinner or the pub and not have to skulk in the street having a furtive fag, in the rain, in the cold, on your own... And you'll all be loaded so eating at the best restaurants in town. :D

I like the idea of your new pans as a treat Lizzie, let us all know on what you decide

Good luck to you all. I tried many, many times to give up. 40 to 50 a day. A bad chest infection that made cigarettes taste horrible managed to stop me. I've never craved for one since.
I think I was lucky.

Well done for keeping it up so far. I tried many times to give up then finally managed it by going cold turkey about 8 years ago.
The two things that stopped me having a fag were:
a) being around and healthy for my kids growing up
b) knowing that 'just one' was the top of the slippery slope. I had never managed to keep it to just one.

Giving up smoking was one of the hardest things that I ever did, I enjoyed it so much. I still promise myself that if I make it to 85 I'll take it up again - I'd quite like to try a pipe!

See that reminds me of when my father was in the early stages of Alzheimer's and we had to forcibly make him give up smoking after he set the house on fire twice. In hindsight it is funny how he tried sneaking out to buy some fags, but it just shows the lengths addiction will drive people to.

Keep it up girls, though I think the real help will be needed in a few days. Stick a no smoking sign on the lottie, reserve a patch of hard digging and when the craving gets too much work at that patch till you are knackered.
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
