I want to put some small evergreen preferably flowering plants around my Mum's headstone. The Cemetery rules are for bedding plants only but they are not too strict by the look of it. It is a grassed over grave so I only have a small area to fill around Mum's headstone. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

hello Happy mouse, I have a similar situation, but not my mother,my son. we have planted rosemary, which is for rememberance.we just keep it trimmed to a reasonable size. and we also have a small yellow rose, a miniature really. Hope this helps....paul.
And some bulbs which mark the passing of each season. That's what we have done and it reminds you of certain events or moments, whether it's first signs of spring, early summer, summer, mid summer, autumn or winter.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I can now go to the Garden Centre with a list rather than walk around aimlessly looking for I don't know what. You have helped me so much

I forgot to mention that i'd bought some lily of the valley root late last year & potted it up with the intention of using it. I saw some today that must have been brought on early as it was already in flower. It is normally associated with weddings but what the hey its a beautiful little thing and smells nice as well...paul.
