Err, I think it was Old Codger who set that one OH, you'd upset him more than usual that week. :D :D :D

Evening Peter, Old Codger might be setting the trap again tonight. :)

Whilst playing a bit of a trick on Old Codger this afternoon with a petrol can, i had a most unexpected surprise.
I was just going over to the allotment with the said petrol can, i had only taken about three steps onto the road when a camper van pulled up wanting to know if i had run out of petrol and needed any assistance.
Now that wouldn't happen if one was in real need, i know.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Would that be the fire I saw lighting up the sky to the west this evening?

There are tidier ways of cutting back the hedge between your plots you know.

We have had a fair number of fires around us the last few days: burning heather on the grouse moors! Looks quite impressive, the large columns of smoke against the evening sunset sky. But it must cause a lot of pollution.

Just thought i would let you all know, Poor Old Codger has had his Operation cancelled again, due to a very bad cold.

How frustating for the old boy.

Spring cleaned the greenhouse yesterday using Jeyes Fluid solution and a scourer. New Jeyes does not smell as nice as old coal-tar(?) formula Jeyes.

My new "Stewart" two standard seed tray heated propagator, £28 from Wilkinsons, is now at work.

Think i better watch i don't get sunstroke today. :)

I'm surprised how quick the soil is warming up and also very pleased with the way the soil is breaking down, getting some lovely seed-beds ready.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
