...Yes, it doesn't look to quite fit the plans for progress that I was making whilst digging yesterday....I was working on the basis of not having cast iron ground and slight snow covering.......
...but it will be doing yesterdays digging some good. :)

I was meant to be building some brick plinths this morning, to stand chestnut posts on, of a log store that i have got to construct.

But i think the mortar will just freeze to my trowel.

Maybe a bonfire instead, if the wind is in the right direction.

Seeing it is Catbuds birthday today, but they haven't been on for a good while, how long do people think it's polite to leave it before not wishing them many happy returns of the day?

I would hate for them to feel left out.

Call me chicken if you like...but I got my car thawed out and got as far as the road and drove back down the drive again..the drive is a sheet of ice...and the road is the same....the roads are unbelievably bad here this morning...

Local radio says that there is a risk of ice this morning...think it may be more than a risk........

The roads and paths were the same here Clive, felt the front end of my barrow twitch more than once just crossing the road.

Nows theres a thought Shallot Man, can you imagine their faces in Halfords when i ask for one wheel chain for my wheelbarrow, and then say, "it was Shallot Mans idea". :lol: :wink:

Looks rather white out there this morning, i opened the door, then shut it up pretty quickly again. :)

The cold wind blew straight up my dressing gown, :shock: i've never made out how ladies can put up with that in winter whilst wearing skirts. :)

No wonder they were known as devils in skirts. :)

I do hope our lady forum members wear something a little more substantial, like a good thick pair of hand-knitted bloomers. :) :wink:

It's strange but I have always found skirts warmer than trousers! Obviously with something warm underneath like some thickish tights!
