Yet another early morning and it is still snowing here the road is steadily getting filled in thanks to no gritting in the night. I have to work though how I am going to get there is anyone's business.

What I want to know is Alan Refail have you any snow yet or are you the only one in the country not to have some? If so I am quite happy to send you some of our if only it would stop snowing here.

Monika was right we were due some heavy snow and here it is.

I'm starting to wonder if there is something very special about Alan,
maybe a glowing halo! :)

Morning Catherine from snowfree Penllŷn.

No we haven't any snow yet; a lightish fall on the mountains, which is where it belongs :)

Damned cold yesterday, though. I was taking warm water to the hens and ducks every hour or so.

Light rain at the moment.

Earlier on we had a mini blizzard for only about 15 minutes but I could not see the hedge about 20 ft from my kitchen window and in that short time it shed 3" of snow. I must say that the LA have done a marvellous job of keeping the roads open so far but this has caught them out completely.
No traffic going past my house which is on the main road to nowhere particularly! (country) The roads have not been gritted and the snow has compacted making it very precarious driving. I popped out to the local village just in time to get a supply of milk. Only five pints left when I had taken mine and there are generally a couple of hundred 2pt containers there. No delivery today to this time but is expected. When I wonder?
Oh the joys of my rural idyll!
JB.

We have been for our walk which was beautiful, if you are not driving. Then my OH decided that he could get me to work in his van not my car. Well we got within two miles and got stalled on a very slippy hill so we gave up and came home. It has never stopped snowing yet today and we have about 8 inches. I am off now to walk down to the shop, only about a mile, because the road is getting worse, to get some bits and pieces and to the allotment to check the polytunnel with the weight of snow.

Well, we've actually had a few brief snow flurries today. The snow is just about up to an ant's armpit! In between the sky is blue and the fields are green :D

Today's snow has stuck on every twig - very pretty but the light is very grey so having difficulty doing it justice.

What beautiful photos.

The snow has just reached us in the last 10 minutes or so. Fortunately I have already walked the dogs and shut the chickens up. They will get a shock again in the morning. When it last snowed just before Christmas they wouldn't come out of their house in case they fell in the snow. In the end I chucked them out bodily so I could refresh their beds, but the fear in their hearts as they fluttered down to their certain doom in the fluffy white water must have been quite awful.

My shopping delivery is due in the morning, and I am completely resigned to the fact that it will be cancelled due to snow, so I had to go and brave the local town this afternoon before the 'big freeze' - me and about everybody else in a 5 mile radius. :x

Hopefully be photo opportunity time in the morning :D
Kind regards,

Elle
