The photo below was taken just after 1pm yesterday...I think we made it up to 35F or thereabouts...
There was snow on East coast beaches earlier in the cold spell....I didn't get to actually see...only through a couple of webcams.
Today..Sunshine and showing at 38.5F currently....much dripping from roofs..but still plenty of compressed snow into ice with wet on the top from a shower earlier...

We went to take my MIL shopping this morning because more snow has been promised but they dont know how far it is coming up the country. When we got to her gate, she lives in a very rural place, the road was just black ice, it had not been gritted, it was absolutely lethal. I was afraid for me and my MIL who fell and broke her head of femur this time last year. I dont know why the Council aren't gritting the road as it is a bus route but her road is not on the gritting schedule
