I'm a hive of infomation, if you need it, it's just not very useful.

Hi John Walker,
I too welcome you to the forum.
As you will be all too aware I have been somewhat maybe over critical of your writing in the magazine and have been told that the comments have been too personal.
I do hold a very different view to you but what ever happens may I say that I look forward to some descent debate.
As I see it is your task to convert me to your way of thinking. Now this maybe a task you will relish or maybe not. It is not an impossible task but remember I was organic for about 40 years until the Soil Association were given point blank ruling on organics at which time common sense went out of the window to my way of thinking. At that point I became a "Pragmatic Gardener" which means using a common sense approach to growing. To my way of thinking it is better to use a common sense approach than to be told how and what to do by another exerting undue influence.

I am with Johnboy. Been gardening some five decades now, great believer in chucking as much manure on the ground as possible, if I spray I use boiled rhubarb leaves, strained and add a dash of soft soap. If that don't work I have no compunction in using a commercial bug killer.
