Well we got the wind down here on the coast with heavy
rain to boot. Quite a spectacular display down on the quay
with the waves breaking over the parked cars but a few
boats down as well. There was as big a queue of traffic
going down there as you get in the summer.

I'm expecting diaster down at Lottie, noted on Sun a bit
of felt was off the shed roof and although I spoke to my friend
to go down when he had time to fix it I doubt he would have
had a chance in the week so will be all off no doubt. Luckily
I re-staked by brussels but some of those will probably also
not make it as the gusts were pretty strong.

Hopefully will be able to get down tomorrow to check - winds
have died down now so fingers crossed there will be a gap in
the showers by tomorrow.

It's blowing a gale here too.........just popped briefly to the lottie to drop off my bargain of the year into the shed, and I found I can't close my greenhouse door cos the wood has swelled that much. So, have tried to wedge it shut with a bit of wood so I'm hoping it'll be ok tonight.

Will go to the lottie tomorrow and enjoy my bargain buy......just got to get my book, my flasks of tea, 20 smokes and i'm away for the day :D
Lots of love

Ohhhhhhhhh, do you really want to know? It's not anything very exciting really........well, it is to me.

I have a little log burner in my greenhouse and one of my favourite passtimes is to have a nice log fire, a few flasks of tea, a few smokes and read my book in peace and quiet. I normally buy logs that cost me a fair bit, around £6 per bag.

However, went to a garden centre not far from me and they were doing fill your own rubble sacks (big ones) with logs, 4 sacks for £10..........Fanatastic. So, I loaded the bags as I would the shopping and got loads and loads of good logs for my fire, and a very large bag of kindling

Tomorrow will be a good day on the lottie :D
Lots of love

Hallelujah - Most of shed felt still on but fairy damp from
the missing piece which fortunately is not over anything
important. Mice didn't seem to mind the storm too much
had a fair share of the potatoes.

All sprouts standing but 1 purple spouting had fallen and
funnily some of the leeks had a 45 degree tilt.

Was late down as spent some of the morning in the eye
unit at the hospital. Have an abrasion on my eye - extremely
extremely painful - don't recommend it at all and now the
anaesthetic drops have worn off I'm expecting a restless night.

Over the last week i have seen three different frogs, i take it that they have just not hibernated yet! It just seems funny seeing them round the gardens this late in the year.

Lovely to have a relatively peaceful, sunny day here in Sussex. If I could get off hold on the phone :x I could go and enjoy 5 minutes in the sun with my chickens and dogs. :D
Kind regards,

Elle

We missed the worst of it - thank goodness - but it was really windy for a few days. Visit to the plot, however showed shed and greenhouse still standing.
