Thank you all for your suggestions and remedies I am sorry but this is the first day I have been able to look at the computer. I am going to try some of your suggestions.

Strangely enough the big joint the doc injected seems to have eased as far as the pain but the big toe joint that the doc bent over to open the other joint :? (the one below the nail) is very painful.

I am taking glucosamine and chondroitin and cod liver oil without fail and I am going to try the cider vinegar and honey as well.

Oh that makes me feel ill just reading it! If I bend my big toe just a little bit I nearly faint, I simply can't imagine the pain of having someone do that to me  How did you put up with it, you must be in agony :(

Hi Chantal. It did not last too long and took my thoughts of the injections he was putting in. but it was not nice. I still have to have my other foot done in the next month. Not looking forward to it.

Thanks Westie I will try and get some green lipped mussels. I have been to the specialist again last Friday and have to have my other foot injected in the next three weeks. The other foot has settled down but the big toe joint has not settled down and is still painful. I have been taking regular Glucosamine and Condroitin but too soon to tell if that is working.

This change in the weather is a killer! My fingers are hurting, my feet are killing me, despite all the remedies and I'm now on the Omega 3, Chondroitin and Vinegar/Honey. Until the damp goes and the cold kicks in it's just going to get worse I fear.

I've been using my special cream that Seedling made up for me with black pepper and some other stuff (Marjoram? Seedling, help!) which seems to help my hands a bit.

I feel for you Catherine. I have Rhumatoid Arthritis and it's a right bugger. I've got it whole body so there's normally at least 3 bits of me hurting, plus I have 2 other bone diseases too.

My advice is to keep on moving, no matter how much it hurts. Do a little more on a good day, and cut it back on a bad day. Eat lots of oily fish, watch for the acid in stuff and generally have a good diet.

I hope it works out for you
Lots of love

Oh Herby..............you smooth talker you

************ dabs tears from eyes *************

I was thinking before about this too. I think that a positive attitude helps. After all, nobody wants a moaner around them. So, I think that this is my body, not the diseases, so it can do what I tell it to do, and not the other way round.

I've been a stroppy bugger all my live, and I don't intend to stop anytime soon. There's far too much fun and chaos to have and cause yet

I agree with you Lizzie that the best way to deal with things is to just get on with your life. After all, if you watched the tv programme recently about the young lad who lost both legs and an arm in a road side bomb, you realise that what we have wrong with us is nothing compared to what has happened to him, and he was very positive. So I am just getting on and doing things and on a bad day I might do a little less and on a good day do loads more. It is not going to stop me mountain biking and walking. No matter what.

Has anyone heard of using dried elderflowers in a tea before, to help with colds and the like?
A very nice lady that i work for, said that her Grandmother always had some dried elderflower in the cupboard, for such uses.

Or does anyone else have any good old herbal remedies.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Dear OH I have a book somewhere in a dark corner of my house which has, from what I remember, old tried and tested recipes if I have time today I will try to put my hands on it and see what I can find. What this space. :)

Update. I have just rung the hospital to see if they have any idea as to when I am having my right foot injected. With the post being as it is I might miss it, and guess what, they have a cancellation for Monday  at 8.15am. Ohher I thought I might have a bit to get my mind round going through it all again, but hey ho, in for a penny in for a pound so before I could change my mind I accepted it. I will have to try and forget about it until Monday. Any way I have started with tooth ache this morning so I think that might take my mind off the injection. :!:
