my wife has come up with a great and very cheap way of cleaning our slabs. roughly 10 part water 1 part bleach, its killed all the moss and cleaned the slabs a treat much better than all these patio cleaners!!!

Or if you are organic and don't want to use bleach you can try the bokashi liquid. I've just taken a whole canful today and I'm wondering what to do with it, as there aren't many plants to be fed at this time of year.

Diluted bleach is probably OK if you have the pavement coloured whiteish-gray slabs but we have some of those yellowish ones and I envisage bleach would soon take the colour out of them. I use Jeyes Fluid and generally get out there after it's been raining. It also seems to work pretty well although the odd stubborn dirty patches occasionally need a second dousing.

A spot of vinegar works well. I recommend a handful of sharp sand on each slab as an effective abrasive.
Allotment, but little achieved.
After trying various methods I invested in a power washer - much the easiest way.

Sorry to hear that Macmac. I still wouldn't be without mine. It makes short work on the driveway to.
