Following on from a thread earlier this year, I have, in my greenhouse, grown 2 GD from a free KG seed packet (last years I think). Both look identical - habit, truss size, etc. - except that one plant is very much more vigorous than the other and the fruits are twice the size ( eg. 6 fruit = 195 gms, 4 fruit = 70 gms) and half the flavour.

Can't complain about mine which came from seed which is about 3 years old. Their size is slightly bigger than the other cherry varieties I've grown but the flavour is definitely up to scratch. Any chance that an odd stray seed from another cherry variety has sneaked its way into the packet by accident. I'm not sure how seeds at commercial suppliers are fed into the packets but possibly an odd stray one caught on somebody's hands perhaps - or are they machine packed?

It sounds like you've got a variant in there somehow. Gardener's Delight is a good old fashioned open-pollinated variety which means that there can be some variations sometimes in the characteristics of the offspring, which is what you're probably seeing here. Either that or there's been some mischief at KG's seed suppliers.
Allotment, but little achieved.
