Hi all,

Some of you may remember that back in July it looked as though I would be offered a 5 perch plot at a neighbouring town. Well, by the end of July I was set up with what I considered to be the best of the overgrown plots and spent many a sweat soaked hour clearing brambles and rubbish etc.
Then one morning a lady and her dog stopped by for a chat. The dog didn't say a lot, but they don't do they :)
The upshot of this was that she and her husband had two plots, a 10 and a 6 perch, and were thinking of giving up the 6 perch as it was all getting a bit much for them these days. Was I interested in taking on the plot if I could get the council to swop me from the one I had. They didn't want to give it up if it wasn't going to be worked. I think I had been watched for a few days, and for some strange reason saw me as the person to take it on :D
So, off we went down to the council offices and pretended to be old friends, and that I had been helping them out recently, and lo and behold, I am now the proud tenant of a 6 perch plot in a nice position on the site, and hardly a weed in sight :D
They have still got a few bits and pieces to clear, but it's nearly empty. I've planted some cabbages and cauli's and can't wait until I can really get going on it.
Any idea what the world record is for having a silly grin on your face :D
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Great news PJ,

Hope you enjoy it for many years to come :) ( the plot, not the silly grin!)

Well that is good news!
Quite why some one. who wants to do less, would prefer the overgrown, weed-infested plot to an already cultivated one, I have no idea.
But it is good news for you PJ. Pleased for you. I only wish I had had less clearing and wed eradication to do when I got my plot (which I obtained in two tranches)
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Hi Stephen,

I think we are at cross purposes here. I have swapped plots to the already cultivated one, from the uncultivated one. Nobody has taken that one on. The other people just wanted to give up the smaller of their plots.
Cheers PJ.
