Is this a genuinely good idea, or just another way of making money by capitalising on "middle-class" environmental concerns?

At the price they are asking it is not going to
attract too many! I suppose it is OK but the
worry with these things is attracting people who
jump on the 'fad' and then bore of it or don't
research it fully and leave the poor bees not
correcty attended.

Well I think it is discusting, the only bright colours I like in the garden are the flowers! Long live the traditional bee hives (& chicken sheds)

Well. the motive to encourage bee keeping is fine if people really learn how to treat their bees properly but when I look at that terrible bright design the words "Prince Charles, and Carbunkle " come to mind. Increasingly I find myself agreeing with him when it comes to architecture these days. There must be an element of egotism on the part of architects to come up with these monstrosities. What's wrong with the traditional design of a bee hive? Somehow they look just right in their surroundings whereas these modern designs just don't fit.

I think the "Beehaus" is produced and promoted by the same people who produced the "Egglu" for chickens.
It looks marketing, advertising and promotion are the most important company skills.
