Am I the only person trying to track down some Cuban Black tomato seeds??.

On Monday 3rd August on What to eat now BBC2 the program makers went to see a woman who grew 59 vaireties of tomatoes, Cuban Blacks came out top in the taste test, so now I want some for next year.

Can anybody help with a supplier.

Thanks

Never heard of them - but I have tracked them to Seeds by Size - if you can navigate their weird website.

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

I have also just found them on seeds by size, but as you say the web site is the weirdest I have ever encountered and I cannot place the order, so I have emailled, lets see what tomorrow brings

Oh good grief. If it's on the telly, it must be great. It looked just like Black Krimm to me, also known as Black Russian, Ukraine Black, Black Enula — from a trial I grew of different tomato varieties I grew years ago (over a hundred varieties grown), we concluded that all the black beefsteaks were one and the same. They are very tasty, though, for sure, for slicing and cooking with. I think a cherry variety is good in a salad, a beefsteak is good for cooking with and the round red sort ideal in a sandwich. Rather like apples, it's horses for courses.

The same programme also rubbished Sweet Million. I've already made my opinions known about that here.
Allotment, but little achieved.
