I was running from 7-30am this morning along with my colleagues....finding this and fixing that etc etc.......but the 11am opening time gave us just time to have a quick brew before it got busy...our small band of loyal regular volunteers manned the plant stall..but I was about fielding questions and assisting as required..and then helping packing away too..

I didn't get time to have a go on the little railway ..although I was greeted by the Boss whilst I stood by the lineside watching the 7,1/4" gauge S160 loco

The silver band played in the courtyard....it sounded a treat where we were down in the plant sales area....best don't ask the tea ladies about the band though
...perhaps a little too close to their establishment for them to hear the next customers order.

We have some extra volunteers helping too this week...they all visited us on a Working Holiday a couple of years ago and liked it such that they have returned as a private group to take part and help out..

It's a funny old place. ..on Tuesday when asked how may gardeners.?..a regular question...it was 1..me... But by Wednesday it was briefly up to 12.!!...infact our young trainee claimed he answered "too many to count today"!! to one enquirer.. I hope he elaborated a bit on his answer



Raining steady now....but hopefully fine for tomorrow..an afternoon tea party event on...perhaps more scones..

Trouble is with being busy on other things over the last week I have lost a pot with my salad seed packets in...I had them all ready to go down the kitchen garden the other day..but it rained....so I put them safe.?? ...First chance yesterday to get a few sowings done again....but could I find the seeds.

I have most seed packets in carrier bags hung in the shed roof...and I remember going to put the pot with the packets in one of the bags..but it's not there.....did it not actually fit at the time and I put it elsewhere.?..if so where??.....I spent too much time on that conundrum yesterday.........

In fact as I was ferreting in the other seed bags yesterday the one with the pot in was directly above my head ...perhaps I had dismissed it as one of the shed biscuit supply bags ..or perhaps I did not even see it

Anyway, keeping on topic ...Once I had found the seeds it rained

A lovely day today..with blue sky..

I was free to get on with some vegetable garden work this morning...on the edge of too wet really but it was good to make progress once more.

At coffee we sat and watched the Buzzards performing up in the blue directly above the gardens...they had a smaller colleague with them which we could not indentify.??...

A passing VC10 was also noted enjoying the blue too.?..and later a pair of Autogyro went by towards the coast...

Then onto some border dead heading work...and likewise the Herb Garden saw some attention..

A wander about at lunchtime in the sunshine with my camera. ..

..and a lovely still evening...lawn mowed at home here...and then Tulamean Rapeberries canes that have finished fruiting cut out and new canes tied in....like...er, end of Summer.
