It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives. Nourish it then, that it may leaf and bloom and fill with singing birds. Black Elk

At least the old bloke isn't wearing socks with his sandles, now that would scare more pests off

i often wear sandals to get air arround my toes to keep them dry, often i wear socks to keep them warmer, you get warm and dry toes, whats the problem? my wife and daughter just give me one of those looks and sigh

Typical male logic! (Bet I don't get away with that comment!) Wear sandals to get air to toes and then cover them up with socks - how does that work then?

Don't ballet dancers wear them? A friend of mine does have some flip flop socks that she bought in China. When she wears them her feet look like those of an ostrich.

im not going to start on female logic...
its a fact that air will flow through socks, and sweat will evaporate from socks worn in sandals whereas shoes tend to trap the sweat resulting in soggy toes... fungus if your unlucky.
in a summer like this one
shoes and socks result in damp feet
sandals on there own result in cold feet
sandals and socks gives dry warm feet
and im not going to loose any sleep over anybody else thinking i shouldnt wear whats comfortable just cos they dont think its proper

No PJ my friends are like this

Can't you see the ostrich feet?
I guess for air circulation you would need cotton socks.
I would never suggest you were not proper Richard
