Strangely enough, my pal found the tea bags "dumped" amongst some other stuff the thieves had discarded....we reckon they don't appreciate the decent brands.

I have mentioned this before, but an old time copper advised us to paint or spray part of the machinery/handles with say a shocking pink, this makes it unlikely to be sold at a boot fair.

We leave absolutely nothing other than netting, fertilisers and a few seeds in our shed just because of the risk of theft and vandalism. We just use our shed as a retreat from the bad weather in which to have a coffee and a chat. We even transport stove/cups coffee etc each time we visit. Then again we live far enough away from our plot to need to go by car so it isn't a problem. No doubt this won't prevent us being a victim at some time in the future for just mindless vandalism.

I agree that it is important to report everything to the police but it can be difficult getting people to do this when nothing of real value has been stolen - they think the police will regard them as timewasters just adding to their paperwork.

Stoves have always been a prime target on our site - it seems the increase in numbers of car boot sales has paralleled the increase in theft of garden stuff etc.
