I grow sweet peppers in the greenhouse every year without any problems- untill this year. Last week I found a plant dead the stalk detached from the roots. Today I've found another one exactally the same. I tipped the compost out and couldn't find anything in it. The only thing was a snail on the plant. Has anybody any idea what can be wrong? I hope I don't lose any more.

Were there any signs of rot at the base, or did it look as though it had been bitten through?
