Yellow leaves on broad beans

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

The broad beans which I planted about four weeks ago, are growing quite sturdily and just starting to flower, but they are getting lots of yellow leaves compared to the earlier ones, from the bottom upwards, in fact all the plants look distinctly yellow.

Could it be the cold winds recently or lack of water (we have not had any appreciable rain for weeks now)? The variety (Witkiem Manita) is the same as the earlier ones.

I have given them a good watering today but, presumably, yellow leaves will never turn green again, will they?

Dear Monika, i would think it could well be drought conditions, combined with drying winds.
I can't see it is a mineral deficiency or the like, as it would normally show yellowing between the veins on the leaf.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Thanks, OH, that's reassuring. Funnily, the veins seem to be green still with the yellow leaves round them. It's also raining at the moment, at last, not heavily but better than nothing!
