Thanks for the reminder.

Re swifts the RSPB site does say
Only record the birds that land in your garden - not those flying over (with the exception of swift and house martin as these are most likely to be seen in flight).

Lovely surprise this morning. I opened the curtains and there on the peanut feeder was a female Greater Spotted woodpecker and her very small fledgling.

We've also had one of these, and her baby feeding on our peanut cages over the past week. Absolutely delightful. Pity they're such shy and timid birds.
