Hi both -Had a very productive day. (Mrs Piglet here.) I carried on digging my flower beds whilst Mr Piglet knocked up some posh frames to support two espalier apple trees and four cordons, plus he planted a Stella cherry tree. I cooked a panful of scrumscious snorkers and fried onions which we had in cobs with brown sauce, washed down with a scalding hot coffee. You can't beat it. Fortunately our good lottie neighbours were away today, so more for us!!! (Piglet, the greedy git had FIVE cobs!) Mind you, he worked really hard today so deserved every cob.
As for Piglet being a cannibal, he will eat most things - tripe, trotters, and tongue excepted.

Afternoon Mrs P - had a productive day here as well. Got loads more digging on the OH's plot done, then back for clear up in the garden and chucked pelleted chicken poo around everywhere (well it's nice to have a hobby). Cleaned out some old containers and found some vine weavil grubs for the chickens, so they were chuffed.
Just about to scrub up and cook a giant roast dinner 'cos we deserve it after all that labour (even if we did have a giant fry up this morning....)

Hello peeps. I've been in the Wendy House (OH's name for my heated tunnel) all day sowing and planting up. It's been noticeably warmer here today, at last. We're having slow cooked pork tonight with lots of veg and Irish Apple Pie (Richard Corrigan's recipe, made with Irish Malt) for pud. Yum Yum.
Went down to waterlogged plot and gave it a good looking at then came home to prick out French marigolds from trays on kitchen window-sill as cat had pissed all over them and they had to be saved even though they weren't quite ready.
Then looked at the basil I had put in a jar to root a couple of weeks ago ( who's idea was that anyway) and decided to eat it with a particularly delicious lasagne and a bottle of red stuff. Feel better now.

Boss Hog!
Somehow I do not see Mrs Piglet in the white suit and hat, chomping a cigar.
Them damm Duke Boys would make a mess of the plot what with the General Lee an all, you-all.

Hi youall. Yeehaaaa!!!!!!!
Them there Duke boys, always in lumber with the Boss.
Didn't go down to the plot yesterday. I wasn't feeling too good and The Old Man ran the Liverpool Half Marathon. I'm dead proud of him cos he smashed his personal best and did the race in 1hr 59 secs. So, had to be here to nurse him back and massage his aching legs, bless him.
Weather is quite good here today. Fairly mild with a light wind. I'm stuffed for doing any digging anyway. Will borrow a bulb planter and pop the spuds in that way again. I won't bother digging the last spud bed.
Still, needs must when the devil farts in your face!!!

Her ladyship has thrown a party, unfortunately she has wind and keeps letting rip.
Desperate to pass the blame after a particulary loud and noxious one, she summons the butler across the room and imperiously tells hims "Jeeves, stop that".
"Certainly Milady, which way did it go?"

Geoff, those cloches really are good for potatoes.
I planted two rows of them this year, and have been really impressed. The problem i found with these cloches is they always try and blow away if you just put bricks along the sides. But with potatoes, i planted the potatoes and dug the sides of the plastic into the ground.
I'm going to dig some tommorow.
Kind regards Old Herbaceous.
