Richard
Of course we don't know anything about any MEPs fiddling expenses, as they are not published.
It does look as if there are plenty of opportunity to rake in the cash

When ever an MP is pulled up on expenses, lo and behold it's in the rules, as I see it there was only one rule, ANYTHING GOES.

Two more stepping down today!. I do rather like the Nick Clegg's idea of making them all stay at Westminster over the summer period and getting the whole expenses reform business sorted out and cleared up. MP's get pretty long holidays and this would give some of them time to get used to the new culture that awaits some of them before long, i.e. only having a maximum of 5 weeks annual holiday like the rest of us.

Actually I feel the whole lot should go, bearing in mind the other lot of freeloaders in Brussels make some 70% of the laws, why do we need Westminster. PS when are the Lords expenses going to be published.

Now you can see it all for yourselves. All you have to do is guess what's been blacked out

Maybe we should all write to our MP's on the following lines:

I hope you will be able to give me a prompt reply on this issue.
Yours faithfully,

I believe The Telegraph is planning to publish a complete uncensored dossier of all the expenses of all MP's. Presumably they hope its sale to the public will help them recoup the vast amount of money they had to pay to buy the discs in the first place. Maybe it will qualify for the Best Seller of the Year. Am very relieved to find that our MP appeared in the bottom quartile of the expenses claimaints. As he happens to be a very hard-working MP for his constituents, I would have felt very betrayed if he'd had one public persona and a very different private one.
