I was bemoaning the fact that I had some plants
stolen only to be informed that someone had been
on the plots and killed loads of chickens. Separate
incidents and different folk have had their girls
beaten to death.

When they do those profiles on mass murderers they
quite often find animal cruelity at the root of it. If
that is the case we potentially have the next Fred West
being groomed as I write. I have thought long and hard
about keeping some chickens but realised I couldn't commit
fully so didn't proceed - thankfully as I would have been
horrified to find them killed.

It made the local news and paper but when I googled it
I found quite a few similar things around the country so
it is not an isolated event. What a world hey that some
folk need to do this to a defenseless animal!

Mindless low life have always been destructive; smash some glass, then graduate to killing things. I have always worried about people keeping poultry on allotments because of this sort of thing.

Not everyone is like that, fortunately. Did you see the banker (yes, banker) rescuing the ducks on the news? If not CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO

Hi Caz,
Animal cruelty knows no bounds. The example I would quote is the friend of mine who bred Palomino Horses. He was so proud of them and he had a mental breakdown after he found two young colts spreadeagled and nailed to five bar gates. They were still alive and with the quick action of the local vet they actually lived through it and grew to be wonderful horses. However, Clint my friend, never recovered, and today is in an asylum. They never caught those responsible. To me hanging would have been too good for them!

I apologize because my previous post should have been addressed to Westi and not Caz. I plead mild insanity

I note that many people have now read what I put on the other day. I think that what I wrote is so horrific that to date nobody has the words to reply. I can tell you it almost has me in tears even thinking about it.
I now wish that I had kept it to myself.

Hi Johnboy
Such horrified panic when I first saw just part of your item my finger quickly pressed the scroll down button, thought daren't read that.
Then I thought it's no good - turning a blind eye - sometimes the greatest pain enables us to become even more aware and helps to further open our hearts and expand our consciousness and feel love and compassion for all and appreciate the absolute wonders and miracles of so much beauty here on earth.
Non-the-less as tears welled I felt thankful for the vet's swift action and humbled that the colts came through so much and grew into their full magnificence.
My heart goes out to your friend Clint who continues to be in torment even to this day. May he find inner peace and be healed in mind body and spirit.
It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives. Nourish it then, that it may leaf and bloom and fill with singing birds. Black Elk

News today - they have (hopefully) caught
the culprits. Police took up surveillance and
just as they were leaving at change of shift
they caught 2 teenagers hoping the fence
at midnight with a poor excuse. Although not
charged yet it is a step forward.

Interestingly the police themselves were challenged
as folk took to doing late visits also. I doubt
there will be too much argument next time there
is a push on locking the gate!
