Yes, Old H'....plenty windy here today....Southerly wind just for a change.!!

Last week we were being buffeted from the West...
....it went past and then turned around and got us again from the East :? :wink: I see it has cut new leaves on several things...and ripped one Carrot fleece too...it is situation normal about this time. :roll:

It gave a tour party of Swiss visitors a good buffeting on Wednesday pm too...I felt really sorry for them...it seems they may not be too used to sea breezes.?!! :wink:


..meanwhile back on Tateys.....
At home here we still have several pots of Swift then Lady Christl to go at before we go onto Swift from the garden...

Well, not posted in this for a while.

How's everyone doing? Hope you're all well and groovy.

The lottie is looking fab. The 4 lots of spuds are poking through the ground, cabbages, calabrese, caulis etc are all looking fine too. The dwarf French beans a re looking a little yellow but i'm sure they'll perk up soon. Think I planted them out a little too early. Onions, garlic and shallots are looking good too. Apple tree is beautiful and just filled with so much blossom I can't see the leaves. All the fruit bushes look fine too, and the goosgogs should be ready to eat in another 2 weeks. They are still a little hard. Strawberries are in flower and the late ones are in bud. The tayberry is also in bud too.

The greenhouse if full to overflowing with all kinds of herbs, toms, cucumbers, courgettes and flowers. I planted 10 packets of sweet peas and have had a 95% success rate with germination so am very happy with that. Sweet peas are my favourites so the more the merrier.

I just have to plant out some peas, beetroots, salads and stuff and i'm sorted out. Oh, and plant the sweet peas but will leave that another few weeks cos we're still getting a little ground frost here.

Have asked Grockie, Mr Grockie and Creeping Jesus to look after my lottie for me when i'm out of action in a few months time so it's all under control. They are just the greatest friends a girlie could have :D

Plus, my little trip to Dublin is coming up in 68 days to see my playmates and go and see a musical recital over there. Just need a bit more spending money and to book the parking space at Manchester Airport. Then Lizzie can go and play for a few days :twisted:

Mum is back to normal and healthy again so all is fabulous. :)

I'm fine thanks Herbie. On the 2nd lot of antibiotics for the chest but it's much better. Glad to be up abd about again and getting up to mischief :twisted:

It's funny how one misses "old" forum friends, isn't it? Has anybody heard from or about parsonsjack from Kent? Have not seen him about for a long time, hope he is ok.

Hi Monika,

I'm still here!! Haven't posted for ages until last night. Must try to look in more often, but there always seems so much to do. The garden's looking good, especially after yesterday's rain. I'm off to Lake Wolfgang on wednesday for week, so my neighbour is on greenhouse duties again :)

No OH I haven't tried any potatoes yet but they have flower buds so looking hopeful. I usually reckon to plant about my birthday (7th March) and dig them for the wife's birthday (21st May) so next week. Fran is 60 this year so we are having a bit of a do on Sunday next so I'll need some for then. Will let you know, I'll try a root of each to see if Maris Bard is as early as Rocket or if the tops are deceiving me.

Old Codger, and myself, are always competing in a friendly sort of a way over the allotments.
So when i built a Mark 1 frame work, covered in black netting to give my outdoor Toms a little protection from the wind, O.C immediately built the Mark 2 model with improved netting and corugated plastic roof.

I have to admit, i have been out done this time. :)

Hello, Parsons Jack, so glad you are with us again! Have a good holiday and when you come back you'll be singing "Im Weissen Rossl am Wolfgangsee ....", no doubt!

Our first potatoes (Charlotte), grown in potato bags are also just starting to flower, so I'll have a poke around in the bag soon. We've had some grand rain the last two days, at last, and everything is growing like mad, including the weeds.

Hi DD,

Monty is still around. He enjoys his early morning walk along the beach. He has taken to a seafood diet lately, crunching up crabs and shells whenever he can find them :D
