Poplar? Seeds blown in and all over raised bed...

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Hi All

For the last week the air in our garden has been full of floating fluffy white seeds, which a neighbour told me were Poplar seeds. They have settled all over our raised bed and germinated, leaving our young veggies looking like they are growing through a green carpet.

Is there anything I can do about them, short of waiting for them to get a bit bigger and pulling them up by hand?

TIA

Well Son in Law,
The white fluffy things might well be Poplar Seeds but they have not germinated yet what you have are a flush of annual weeds. These can either be pulled by hand or there is a thing on the market called a HOE.
If you have planted the bed up yet be sure not to disturb your plants.
JB.
