Hi can anyone answer this for me ? Im new to growing veg, Last autumn i made some raised beds and planted some over winter onion sets & garlic . They looked like they were doing fine but are now covered with about 6in of snow that has turned to ice. Are they able to survive this or will all be lost ?

They should be OK.
I've done overwintering Onions before and they have been fine in the snow and ice.
Garlic needs a cold snap and should be deep enough to not care.

Hi Peter Thanks for your rapid reply to my question the reason i was worried was because they had been completley covered for around 10 days and i had got used to the idea of having an everlasting supply of onions this year also plenty of garlic for cooking many thanks
