have any of our gardening folk successfully grafted a fruit tree in the last year. When did you do it and what fruit was it?

That carrot came out of the ground exactly as you see it. It has not been modified or enhanced in any way - either digitally or analogue - or by means of soil enrichment.
It has a certain innocence about it which would not offend young maiden gardeners, don't you think!. Had I dug up a whole drill of carrots looking like this I would have questioned what the variety was. Maybe you could suggest a name for a variety of carrots that display this boyish physique.
I never did eat it, but wrapped it up in newspaper and gave it to my brother-in-law who rolled around laughing at it.

In the early Spring, I did six grafts of apple tree. Four of those grafted very well and one of those has an apple maturing. Very pleased with the result. 22.06.2009
