Oh what sort of grandfather am I? I forgot to mention that my eldest daughter had a baby boy on 28-12-08! To be called some unpronounceable Welsh name! Baby doing well and after a rather shaky time so is mother.
A delighted, :D

Congratulations Johnboy I dont know if you have any other grandchildren but they are a joy.

I have one granddaughter who is now ten. (Unfortunatley she will be our only one) We have her to stay every other weekend if at all possible and we get such pleasure being with her. Since she was very tiny (three weeks old) she has come to us and as she grew we have introduced her to gardening in our garden and at the allotment. She has her own bed now to grow what she wishes. We go to the river where my OH helps her tickle fish (I gave up long ago not got the knack) and we have picnics, even in the rain. We go to the beach to make sand castles and fly kites. We also bought a pull along bike fastened to the back of my OH's bike so from when she was four she cycled with us. Now she has her own bike which she rides with us and can do ten miles plus with ease. Though you do have to make it interesting and we stop regularly to look at views (apparently I can never see enough beautiful views and am always stopping to take pictures and look and my OH and Megan make fun of me in a nice way)

She is very interested in nature and being outside which I hope has come from our influences. Sorry to ramble on but I love having her around and will be devastated when she is too old to come for our weekends and is more interested in being with girl and boy friends. I know the time will come but not just yet.

Dear Catherine, ramblings like that i could read all day.

You never know, in years to come if you are lucky, she might get a bike with a double trailer, then she will be able to pedal you and your husband round to all the places you love.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Dear OH Thankyou. The way we are going on at the moment it is going to be sooner rather than later. I have had to give in and have started using proper walking sticks to go up hills as my knee is giving me problems. Its always does when I miss taking my glucosamine and I am only *5. God knows what will happen when I am *5
