A happy New Year to you all.
May the rain only fall at night
May the slugs a suchlike have been killed by the cold weather
and
May the sun shire when you wish it to do so.

Old Codger my dear friend, sorry i haven't been about but i have been so busy potting up bulbs, amongst other things.
I'm working all day tomorrow as well so won't see you again, i would treat this as an dded bonus from my unrelenting joking.
As for the hangover, you only get them when you wake up, and as you know by what time i'm digging over the allotment, that i rarely sleep.
Dear Geoff, an absolutely fabulous photo.

Happy New Year to everyone, please let it be better than last year both at home and on the allotment. Brilliant photo of your garden Geoff. Cant understand why people dont like the frost as we have had several days of heavy frost. We did a walk from Tosside to Whelpstone Craggs (on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire) on Thursday everywhere was magical and I got some superb photos, but roll on seed sowing and planting time.
A Very Happy New Year to all!
Weather station shows -8 C just now and yesterday it never raised above -3C all day.
I have kept the heating on and the log burner is still throwing out a bit so nice and warm inside but decidedly chilly outside.

If I am not on the plot, I am not happy.........
Hi Compo,
As usual I fell asleep watching the dreaded square screen in the corner the other side of the log burner. I now record every film I watch so that I can play catch-up the following day.
I only need 4 hours sleep so bed is not an everyday occasion. When I have looked at the forum I generally have a bath and then read until it is light and then get on with something.
I wish you a very successful growing season.
JB.

Wow! Johnboy I wish I needed less sleep. Or is it a curse!
I would be dead on my feet if I only got 4 hrs sleep each 24hrs.
I bet you get loads done. And time to read...bliss.
I squeeze my reading into many 10 to 15 min bytes throughout the day.
Its only during holiday times I get to read for more than 15 mins in one sitting.
I had noticed you and others (OH) appeared to be nocturnal.

Owls, gardenserf. You must be a lark.
A rather belated happy new year to everyone.
Alan - to add to your litany - 2009 will bring 14 strong healthy piglets in every litter, eventless lambing with a squad of strong lambs, good prices at the RBST show/sales, rain at the right time and sunshine enough to warm the ground but not scorch it, 100% germination. If that happened every year, what fun would that be! It's the unexpected and battling with adversity that keeps us on our feet.
But seriously, 2009 promises to be good for me, because I hopefully retire in July and will have time for garden and smallholding and more than ever, time for my gorgeous little grandson.
