peach leaf curl for a too-tall tree

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

I got peach leaf curl on my fan-trained tree last year and really don't want it again. I know I should be covering the tree with plastic around now but the branches are poking up a couple of feet above the fence so don't know how I can attach it. Could I just drape the plastic over the tree or would it rub on the branches and cause problems?

Any suggestions? (I am a DIY moron so please don't tell me to construct something with timber and screws!)

Hi Bigpepperplant.
If you were to start with your polythene at the back of the tree below fence level between the fence and the tree then run the polythene over the top and towards you and then down over the tree. This is like putting the top half of the tree in a polythene bag.
This could be achieved without wood and screws and feel would be good for purpose. You can tie the ends of the piece between the fence and tree to the tree itself.
Only a suggestion mind!
JB.
