RIP Gwynfor

Forgive me for using the forum for a little tribute to my oldest cock, Gwynfor, who died of old age last night.

Here he is in his prime:



And a verse in his memory:

Dyry osgo rhodresgar – iodlo'i diwn
Y Dŵ-dyl-dŵ dreiddgar.
Balch o fflach ei grib llachar;
Clochydd y dydd, cariad iâr.

He struts about importantly and sings his song
A piercing cockadoodledoo.
Proud of the flash of his shining comb;
The morning's bell-ringer, the hen's beloved.

He and Rocky could be brothers Allan; I'm sorry for your loss, but to die of old age has to be the best way to go.

He was nearly six - so not terribly ancient.

We do have some spares, including his son from last year, Gwynfor bach, who is the dead spit of his dad.
