Not much warmer further East along the A158.!!

My weather gizmo reads in old type degrees and was showing 29 when I was munching my breakfast...it's at 34.7 now this evening.

It has been a lovely fresh clear dry sunny day...excellent weather for progressing our border cut down, splitting and forking over work....the herb garden and cut flower area has seen work today.

Not a day for lurking in the potting shed...if for no other reason than the stove cannot be lit due current lack of a chimney pipe

Meanwhile at home here my plan to take cuttings of my Argyranthemums and some Salvias at the weekend has been shelved :( ...left it too late in a lot of cases this year.!!..I knew I should have done it last weekend....but I was otherwise engaged... looking at steam threshing and climbing up a Windmill on Saturday...and riding behind a lovely little industrial locomotive on the Sunday....I don't just read one Mortons title.

Sorry to hear about your fall Herby.........do you want me a Grockie to come and rub the onitment in for you? I'll get Grok to get the angle grinder on her talons first

It's cold, windy, raining and sleeting here. Doesn't help standing for an hour and a half in it whilst Little Andrew was hacing his riding lesson

Plans ofr a burn up are off for now cos I forgot to cover the large mound so it's all wet now. It'll have to be next week when it's dried out a bit.

Went to town with my mum and spent a very pleasent hour browsing around the new Lakeland shop that has opened in the new Liverpool 1. I was as happy as a pig in wotsit in there :D

Other than that, not a lot really.

we had enough snow to stop the milk tanker coming up the lane (even though id been out to a breakdown in a normal esate car) in about 1981, not had more than a dusting since. guess weve been lucky but the kids dont think so. though we are on top of a hill weve got bigger 10 miles or so in every direction and they seem to get it all. late seventies was the last time we had serious snow here, but i was working in cambridge at the time and missed it all.
its been a bit nippy here the last few days and there was a hail storm whilst we were in hospital on tuesday, otherwise just more rain , about 20 mmm in the last week.
was cold enough to need a new battery in the car on wednesday morning but it aint too bad really, brother in law phoned from near malaga last night moaning it had been raining for three days and he was thinking of putting the heating on!!! poor soul, guess it makes a change from moaning about having to have the air con on for most of august.
