Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a butternut squash variety, that tastes good and is reliable? I have never grown these before but would love too try them.

Regards

Hi donedigging,
I used to grow Butternut squash from seeds from Tuckers but not the strains they offer now and found that if you couldn"t get to your site to control it then it took over :!:
I find that "Jaspee de Vendee" from PARK Seeds does well for me,is a slower grower and the flesh is very sweet and tasty. They also do a Butternut type but I"ve not tried it.
Regards snooky

hi done digging,
I grew Avalon from T&M this year from a packet of seed I had left over from the year before. Of the three plants only one decent size butternut but that was a reflection of the weather not the butternuts. In the past they have been fine and certainly worth growing.
Good luck
