My radish packet (French Breakfast) says I can do successive sowings until September, but I can't seem to get much result after early July. Mid July sowings have come up all top and no radish, despite being in same area as previous OK sowings. Any tips, please?
Thanks, John N

I rarely grow French Breakfast these days as I get on better with the round ones. Just started using Cherry Belle sown on 4th July. Must admit I haven't sown any to follow apart from Mooli.
Hi John,
With French Breakfast Radishes I have found by bitter experience that to grow in rich soil gives a very fast growing load of leaves and no radish. I avoid Nitrogen like the plague and since adopting this method have had results at least good enough to eat.
I had great success with a freebie packet of seeds a few years ago but lost the packet so don't actually know what I sowed so sadly cannot repeat the process. These were a round variety all red and they were very succulent and stood for quite a time before becoming inedible (pithy).
