Water Spikes for watering plants

Hi, not sure if this is the right place for this question, but has anyone used the watering spikes that you can attach to 2litre plastic bottles, and if they have used them, what do they think of them. Can anyone recommend the best ones to use. Thanking you muchly.

I have used watering spikes and found though this magazine last year a special offer of a water butt, stand and rain diverter with some IROSO water spikes. I bought a 3 gallon plastic food bin fitted the bung and pipe to the drippers and it works a treat. I also used the same with 2lt bottles and as you can set the drip rate found them very good. I used a stick by the side of the bottle and tied the bottle to it as it tended to want to fall over. There is a little scotsbrite filter in the dripper aswell. I can recommend this and perhaps if there is another offer ( KG hint hint) I would certainly get some more as they are pricey at 4.99 each. I bought the set of 4 for £17 in the offer. Good luck.

Fantastic post - you may be able to help me.
I have a polytunnel 20ft long and have found the watering to be reaaly hard work. I only get to the lpot for 1-2 hours a day and find that now most of that is taken up with watering so i need some kind of watering system. Was your set up for outside orundercover.
I have 4 waterbutts and the polytunnel is on a slop so the waterbutts can start at the top. Noticed there is now a solar thing you can buy to go ontop of a water butt to provide a timer but can't find the artical now.
Maybe something like this would work

Hello Chicken4, I have tried many different ways and contraptions but feel that a micro kit is not what you are looking for in a 20ft polytunnel. I think you would be aswell to use an ordinary hosepipe and attach a seep hose. I transfer watweer along my fairly level pot by syphon. If you connected your hose pipe to the water butt you could switch it on go do other jobs and just move it now and again. I water my runner beans this way. Anyway there are alot of ideas out there its just a matter of sorting on thats suits you and your envirenment.

Just wondered if you have had any success with finding a suitable watering system. As I said I have used iriso spikes which are very good and you can rgulate the flow. You may of seen chicken4's entry as she has a good sounding set up now aswell.
