Our site is being attacked by a persistant thief ...he/her does it every year
Two years ago 'all' my gooseberries disappeared from a fruit cage...I now have to beat the blighter to it...this year half my red currants have gone (three bushes worth)
A plot nearby has had his strawberries taken and another plot gooseberries have gone

In each case substantial barriers have been moved to get at them...these barriers are well beyond the capabilities of four legged or feathered thieves

If we catch the 'tea leaf' he/she will not be reported to either the Police or the Council... 'it' will suffer some form of lottie justice
I am in my own little world, ...it's OK, ...they know me there!

Hi allotmentkate,

Your report of the grower who put that notice on the grapes reminds me of a story about a man in a pub who had to answer the call of nature. To prevent anyone quaffingg his beer, he wrote on a piece of paper "I have spat in this beer". He returned to find 10 replies to this, all saying "So have I".

And Grock, I suspect there are at least 2 thieves. Probably a pair of nickers.
