I've had Metcheck on my bookmark toolbar for a long time now for weather stuff and found it really excellent. I heard about in a posting on here but can't remember whose.
This site has now gone away after a few days of 'back soon' messages about the site being improved. Anyone else been using it? Do you know where it's gone to?
Failing that does anyone know of another good weather forecast site (apart from the BBC -groan!)?

John, I have had the same problem, because it was the first website I went to after switching on the computer every day. As you may have found out, there still is a metcheck.com but it provides everything but the weather!
www.metoffice.gov.uk is not bad though not as detailed as metcheck was.

I've had the same problem and I can only assume it's a technical problem to do with the upgrades.

It looks like they've changed service provider as well as servers and the old site has been pulled before the new site is live. If you click on "why am I seeing this page" it says

"The domain parked page appears when visiting this domain name because the owner has not yet uploaded their own website or holding page.

This page will disappear as soon as the owner of the domain uploads their own website. This domain parked page also confirms successful registration and setup of the domain name."

I'm watching and hoping :?

I use the met office - once you select your region you can do all sorts with the tabs, you can forecast rain, wind, temperature for the day and get a forecast for a long way ahead. I start from
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html
then click on my area of the map

Thanks for all your replies.
Everything seems to be back to normal at the site now.

Morning all,
Metcheck were having all their servers upgraded, but they have resumed normal (but faster) service now. Got another not very summery forecast this morning.

Chantal, you are right about looking out of the window. Persistently drizzling this morning but not registering on Met Office radar.

The long-term forecast for July was warmer and drier than average. I use Metcheck, but I think the 3 hour forecasts merely give the illusion of accuracy. These forecasts change frequently and I think the only time they are accurate is when the weather is settled. Otherwise it's look out of the window and see what's happening.
