Thought it was time to start a new one.

Well i knew today was going to be a special day when i woke up this morning. But nothing could have prepared me for what was going to happen.

When i went on the forum earlier reading through peoples views on important things in life, i suddenly came across a name that i have been patiently waiting to see back on the forum for ages.

And the name of this young lady, Grock in the frock.

Well i had to go back upstairs and lay on the bed for a while as i came over all faint. :lol: :lol:

I have been looking at Old Codgers window boxes and hanging baskets today.
Well i have to say, they are a real credit to the old boy.

I wonder who supplied him with the Surfinia Petunias. :wink:

Had a busy day today, tidying up and weeding the plot, weeding and repairing the raised beds and all that stuff.

Our version of old codger, wandered down the plot and looked at the newly acquired plot next to me which the lady had marked out with paths and lines to make a sligthly non conventional planting plan. Our old codger does not like to see anything that is not in rows across the plot, he walked up the track chuckling and slapping his thighs, saying 'how can anyone grow like that' I did not want to pipe up ' well I do!!' It is a bit like the old boys that stand at the end of Joe Swift's plot on Gardener's world and laugh at him.

Well I have one of those raised plots and today I took home, raspberries, strawberrries, broad beans, kale, two types of potatoes, shallots and onions, the old codger walked up the track complaining his plot wasn't producing much!!!

I don't get it!!

Your absolutely right OH...I must admit it has made me chuckle all day long, even more so when i had five or so different things on the table that were growing on the plot within the last 24 hours ago. I consider it my job in life to give people something to be critical about!!

I see we are in for some high teperatures and thunder storms tomorrow, i hope this doesn't trigger off the blight spores.

Cloudy and breezy here with a light drizzle. Not, at present, a day for gardening.

Compo and OH, are you still on GMT? :wink: My computer says OH was posting at 5:35am on 30 June. :lol:

yesterdays wind has dropped and its just stopped raining, but looks like we shall get some more soon, guess i ought to go and pick the broad beans before it starts again :D

Still dry here, but the wind is getting ever stronger :evil:
My neighbour has gone on holiday again, so I have just had to pick his raspberries. I'm looking forward to them with lashings of ice cream today :)

I was so cold last night I lit the log burner and how much rain we had yesterday only the good Lord knows. The river is very high this morning but the peak time will come when the rain off the Welsh hills arrives tomorrow. The rain really went into the soil yesterday as I dug down a spit just now and it was all wet which is really good news.
Very good news for the Potatoes here. None by a brook this year so no risk of losing any to floods. They really look a splendid crop and have come on well in the last two weeks.
