Bit of a breeze

I can't believe how windy it is out there. I'm about to go to the plot for a look see, but I doubt I'll be staying long as there is nothing to stop the wind howling right across the site.

It's so windy in the garden the stuff is flying around (like chickens ) and I've just abandoned working in the greenhouse 'cos it's too scary. There's a line of gigantic Christmas trees only 10 feet away and they are twisting and bending alarmingly. I don't want to be in a glass house if one of them comes down

This could be a day for indoor stuff, despite the glorious sunshine

It's blowing a hooligan here too. I'm going to work in my tunnels but even they're moving more than I like!

I'm chief cook today - Lyndon fed his hand into the planer thicknesser on Friday afternoon, didn't get seen in A&E until 11pm and has got to go back tomorrow. Ouch!

Planers don't leave a lot of flesh to be able to be stitched.

You're quite right OH - there wasn't anything to stich. It was a case of packing and dressing. Nasty.

The dog came out of it well though. Lyn's apprentice locked up the workshop and the house whilst Lyn took off to the hospital, but forgot about the dog. I went staight to the hospital from work, then to the supermarket. When I eventually arrived home, the dog was waiting patiently outside the front door, where she'd been for 4 hours!

As for insurance PJ - I've got the claim form ready for the GP to sign tomorrow.

I've just been to the lottie and was nearly blown off my feet. There's an avenue of trees down one side of the site, the canopy is too high to offer protection, but there's masses of lumps of wood flying around and it's more than a little dangerous. I've just done some remedial repairs, picked some flowers and tomatoes and come back home.

Now I'm trying to think of something to do today that doesn't involve gardening

Absolutely foul here - blowing a winter gale and pouring with rain. Just went out to secure garden furniture and watched the greenhouse swaying in the wind. If this carries on much longer there will be a lot of damage.

its a bit breezy here, but quite warm with sunny spells as the clouds sweep over, was quite pleasant podding peas and beans on the patio before lunch.

I have thought about decorating but that would take more than a day. No ironing, cooking or drain clearing to be done

I "watched" the Grand Prix but that had it's usual effect on me and I can remember nothing from lap 2 to lap 67

I'm risking the garden again now as stuff is blowing over and needs tying in before it breaks. Rosie cat is refusing to go outside, even though the sun is shining and she is solar powered. With a bit of luck Seedling will be round soon and that's always an excuse for a cup of tea and a good old gossip.

Talking of gossip, a good friend of mine has just made the local papers "woman startled by flasher" which is so very unjust. He wasn't flashing, he's a naked rambler and she met him at the end of a 5 mile hike down the Oxford Canal! People who flash, don't usually walk around in nothing but a rucksack and a hat and stop for a chat on the way. The paper has no idea who he is and she described him as "tall". He's my height and I'm short for a woman. You can tell what SHE was looking at!

All is calm again here this morning, thank goodness.
But it did cause a lot of damage yesterday.
