Cucumber pests

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

I run a school allotment as well as my own veg garden, and the children planted out two cucumbers that they had grown from seed into the border soil in the polytunnel. They seemed to be growing well until one day last week one cucumber wilted and died, when I dug it up there were lots of white grubs in the root system and the stem was completely eaten away. A few days later the other cucumber followed suit! It was all very similar to cabbage root fly attacks, except they weren't cabbages!! I wondered if anyone else has had this problem with cucumbers. I've always grown them in pots at home and been really successful.

Don't forget you still have to get rid of the Vine Weevils in your tunnel before they eat the roots on everything else.
