Several of our plotholders are now using the heavier builders netting to protect their peas. But in hind sight are now concerned it will not allow the insects to pollunate the flowers.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
and do peas need insects for pollunation to set the pods.

If I remember correctly peas have a 'perfect' flower, ie it self pollinates as it grows. I'm sure i read this in an article on seed saving, you dont need to isolate peas from other varietys for this reason. i'm sure someone else will correct me if i am wrong.

As Mandylew says, no problem. Peas flowers are self-fertile, like French beans and tomatoes, so don't need pollen transferred from flower to flower.

Thank you both very much. I will pass on your comments.
