Dear Donedigging i am so sorry to hearof your misfortune, hope you soon get better, and can get back on the garden.
Talking about slugs, they are the the things that can beat O.H.he set a row of runner beans in the lottie they came through, and the next day he had 4 left the slugs had eat them all.
What a shame.

Donedigging, Sorry to hear you're a bit poorly. Hopefully you'll be back on the plot soon.
Cheers, PJ.

I feel for you as this is a busy time of the year
If it's any consolation, my neighbout at the allotment (who has 2 plots there) has just come out of hospital from prostrate cancer. He's got similar constraints on physical activity - however he has press-ganged his wife into doing the work for him.
This involves him standing over, handing out instructions whilst she plants runner beans, digs weeds and generally looks pretty miserable
Whilst you may hanker for a similar option, I personally think this chap is rapidly using up his favours and may soon struggle to get even a friendly cup of tea back at home!

I have spotted some nice looking plants on a plot very close to mine if i run out.
Thinking about it i might as well just let the plants grow then pick the beans.
Nice to see you off the forum earlier Donedigging.

Good morning DoneDigging
I'm sorry to hear your news but am alos very pleased to hear you are behaving and really have "done digging" for a few weeks
Is there any rule about sitting on an kneeler (the other way up) and doing some hand weeding? I do all my weeding like that and rarely have to resort to "proper" digging at all.
May I also say it's nice to get the inside track on OH's window box. It seems a little larger than we thought as he's getting so many (or not) beans in there

Hi Donedigging, hope you can return to the dig soon. I had a pacemaker fitted 18 months ago, due to the op I was in the same boat for a while until the operation healed. I used to get down on the ground sit along side the bed and weed with a trowel or similar. I was only allowed to use one arm due to the site of the pacemaker being on the left.
What have they said about the future .... is this temporary or will you get back to digging?
Meanwhile I would suggest you enjoy the rest, nature is giving you a little message to slow down anyway me thinks. Good luck and a speedy recovery, tell your wife this is the equivalent of a subscription to a top fitness gym!!!
