6am is a lie in for me. I'll give the beach a miss today I think :) Absolutely chucking it down at the moment and very windy too. Looks like I've got some horizontal sunflowers :( I won't need to water the hanging baskets anyway.

Cheers, PJ.

I'm looking forward to the new Hughe Fernley-Whittingstall show....I like him....seems to talk a lot of common sense.

As for today...had a lovely time down on the lottie. There was hardly anyone down there so it was nice and peaceful I managed to get in all of the brassicas and Big Andrew made an apprearence and did some weeding for me. It was nice being down there with him, i'm still hoping that he can get into gardening. He did praise me on how nice the brassica bed looked, not it's all planted up. I watered them in with the garlic solution thingie that was on GW. I'll see if it works or not. I think i may have got the solution a bit wrong but i'll make another big batch tomorrow and take it from there.

It was very breezy but the rain held off.

Just got everything done when Mr Grock came down to finish doing Grocks greenhouse for her. She was apparently lounging on the sofa in her pj's having a restful day
Lots of love

Good morning all,

Very calm here this morning. No wind at all for a change. Still some cloud about, but no rain. Certainly a bit different to the last couple of days. Even the dog wouldn't go out in the garden last night. He must of been bursting by this morning :)

Cheers, PJ.

Never thought I would say this but yipee we have RAIN. :D It started raining this morning before I woke up about 6ish. It was heavy but now it is just gentle. The winds were really bad yesterday again and the sweetcorn which I planted on Friday most have been shredded with the force of the wind. I dont know if it is to late to plant some more seeds? I covered my pumpkin plants with large waterbottles with the bottom cut off just to protect them from the force of the wind. It is still breezy this morning. What's everyone else got today.

It's calm here now after the high winds and heavy rain of the last two days. Lots of plants destroyed, and even a small tree uprooted, which has been in the ground for about 5 years! :(

More rain forecast on and off for the next couple of days, so not much chance to gat out and do stuff. I'm on holiday this week (half term) so was hoping to get lots done. Oh well, there's always the dreaded tax return to get on with. :?

Gastly weather here in the Chilterns, both yesterday and Sunday. The rain was almost incessant and it was being blown around a lot (I mean a lot) so I stayed indoors most of the time.

yep, ghastly indeed, it rained here all day yesterday. At least I got my ironing done. (boooring!) I hate ironing, that's why there was so much of it, it took me all afternoon. Oh well, I won't have to do any for a while now

At last SOME rain here this morning, mainly just drizzling in a desultory way, and now it's stopped altogether, but there is heavy rain forecast for the next few days, so roll on, roll on, please.
The wind has abated slightly, but it's still quite vicious and still from the north-east. I think we cop it particularly because it blows off the moor behind us which extends northwards for miles and miles, in fact if you followed the meridian which goes through our village northwards, it would not "hit" another civilised place until it left the UK coast near Berwick-on-Tweed and then straight to the North Pole. How is that for a bit of knowledge?
