Trees in pots

Are there any trees that I can grow in pots in my back yard ? (besides the ballerina fruit trees of which I have an apple and pear. These two were on my lottie and when we moved I put them into pots and hoped for the best. They are both now coming in to flower.)

Dear Joy, you can grow virtually any tree in a pot or tub. Always try and use large pots and use a mixture of John innes No3 and a good quality compost.
If you are going to go for fruit trees, you are best to get ones on a dwarf root stock.
You could try Cherries, apricots, peaches, plums or any other ones that take you fancy.
You could also grow any of the fruit bushes as well.

Dear Joy, yes you can grow any tree in a pot.
But you can't really expect to get a mighty Oak.
The biggest problem with pot grown trees, is keeping them well watered in the summer, and high winds constantly blowing them over.
Goosegogs will be fine in a pot.
You are quite right about the trail and error.

I have pot some trees in the pot, I thought that I would try them seen as they were cheap one from lidl £3.99 and one from morrison's £4.99, The one form lidl was a cooking apple and I planted that up about 1 & 1/2 months ago and that is well on its way flowering.
Today (once the rain stopped
) I planted out the Morrison's plum tree, so fingers crossed that should be o.k & start to settle. General info - They both came bear root, and looked half dead 
but if I can make um grow, I am sure that you can. Good luck.

Has anyone any experience with Bonsais? I'm so eager to get one but so afraid on the other hand that I'm not able to shape it the way I want it.
