Big result! Having tried and failed to borrow a car (sister's out of town) and tried and failed to book a taxi (it's a Saturday night) my parents have come up trumps. The live in Leicester and will pick Tim up, put him up overnight and then I'll retrieve him in the morning. They are so wonderful :D

Tim however doesn't know any of this, yet. Just need to find out his flight number and we're all sorted.

Gorgeous day, off to the plot 8)

PS nothing wrong with your clocks OH, I just woke up and couldn't get back to sleep

Dear Chantal, maybe you couldn't get back to sleep because you have something on your mind, maybe you would like to share it with us, or maybe not.

I was just too hot  Which is more than I can say about being at the plot for a whole 25 minutes. Dear God it was cold! I was wearing several layers including two fleeces and wind just tore through me.

Our site is very open with no shelter at all and the wind came up the valley and over the site with not so much as a tree to stop it. It took me half an hour in the house before my bum thawed out!

I've consequently spent a very enjoyable few hours in a very sunny and warm greenhouse 8)

I have to agree with you about the cold Chantal, our allotments are exposed to the East, and it is rather fresh over there today.

Glad you have warmed up. :)

Don't panic, i was thinking things, even if i didn't say anything.

The Easterly was not too bad in Somerset so I managed get digging with my wooly hat off plenty of tea and I got one long raised bed dug, and half way down my rasperry thicket pruning and thinning, hope to get the same done tomorrow.

Thought i would just let you know, yesterday i lost my lock knife that i have had for twenty years, i hunted high and low for it, but to no avail. :(

But this afternoon, whilst having a bonfire, there it lay on the ground. :D Now that has cheered me up, funny how one can get attached to certain items.

i allways have two tape measures in the toolbox, if you loose one you can spend ages looking and not finding, whereas if you use the 2nd one the first turns up remarkably quickly with no time lost.

Dear Richard, a good idea, but i think the idea of me carrying two knives about might get me into trouble with the law, i hope that wasn't what you were hoping.

One more thing i've noticed, we have another Clive registered, sounds a bit confusing to me. :?

at one time there was another richard, who posted oposite views to mine on a favourite contentious subject, which caused some confusion (apoplexy might be a better word)in certain quaters. :D
