My Dear OH....If that is all you are suffering from (a gentle sigh when getting up)you are still a spring chicken
There are many other goodies to look forward to:-

1. Sighing when you sit down

2. Having a pair of specs secreted at various points around the house

3. falling asleep when reading watching TV at the drop of a hat.

4. getting out of bed several times in the night for a jimmy riddle

5. getting to vocally sound more like Victor/Victoria Meldrew every day

Life is fun

I am sure others will come up with some equally exciting things to look forward to
I am in my own little world, ...it's OK, ...they know me there!

I wish it was just me that sighed when I sat down, but the chair sighs too !

Apart from item 2 I can relate to all of the above.

Anyone got a rope?

Well i'm going to make a special point of not sighing when i get up off the settee, theres no way i'm going to get old gracefully, i'm going to get old kicking and screaming.

And yes Weed, life is fun.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

There's a saying that I cant't quite remember (memorys going) so I will paraphrase...

There's no point arriving at the pearly gates perfectly preserved. It's better to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, shouting " WHOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! What a ride!!"

Sounds good to me

I think I'm getting younger as I get older, I wore Damart vests when I was 18 and working outside. At 40 I had my ears pierced five times, at 42 I had my nose pierced and then I got a tattoo.

But I can still look like a school-marm, so my fine young man says. I think he likes it. :D

Dear Pongeroon, i'm sitting here trying to visualize what a School-marm looks like. :?

And may i ask what your tattoo is of, and blow it, i might as well ask, where is it.

One of the weirdest things about getting older is the rapid growth spurt of ear hair, nose hair and eyebrows, I mean what exactly does my body think it's preparing for.

Went to my GP last week cos my jaw and ear were sore.
She poked the ear examinong thing in me lug and then announced "You have the hairiest ears I have ever seen!"

Does this mean I am turning into a hobbit?

Dear Peter, that is impressive, as she was a vet before she became a Doctor.

Careful, careful, I might send a botanist round to classify you or a proper gardener to give you a root pruning.

Getting grumpy with technical things like remote controls, mobile phones and new cars, that beep and talk to you YOU DONT KNOW WHAT FOR!!

I can identify with the specs in every location, I carry a credit card magnifier in my wallet and folding specs on my car key ring!!

Leaving lace up shoes laced up a bit loosely cos bending down to tie em is tricky.

Getting frustrated with various food packs and boxes when you want to open em quick.

Leaning on your spade up the plot and staring at nothing in particular.

Could be worse Compo, at least you haven't taken to saying "Arr, when Oi were a lad we used to ......." whilst leaning on the spade and chewing a straw, like OH does.

Yet! [/b]

R4 Today

Interviewer : Aren’t you legislating for a hypothetical situation?

Jacqui Smith : It won’t be hypothetical if and when it occurs.

Aren’t our politicians wonderful.
