Which variety of tomato?

Last year i grew 3 varieties of tomato in the greenhouse - Sungold, Gardeners Delight and Ailsa Craig. They were grown in 9" pots and watered via a drip system. Whilst they croppped very well they tasted a bit 'pithy' and the skins a bit tough. Which varieties would you recommend for growing in the greenhouse?

My overall recommendation would be Sungold and I'm astonished at what you say about them. I find Sungold to be too thin skinned if anything as they can easily split when being picked.
For what do you want to use them?

I would say that you've got three good ones there - perhaps it was last year's weather that made them so disappointing? I would give them a second chance this year.
Harbinger is often mentioned on forum as a excellent one to try.

Thank you for your reply. Chantal, having thought about it, you are quite right about the Sungold they tasted great and the skins were prone to splitting a bit. It was probably more the Ailsa Craig that were disappointing.
John, thanks for the suggestion of Harbinger. i'll try them this year.
Is it possible that although they had a drip system there was not enough water coming out? I didd't want to get them too wet in case the roots rotted.

the flavour of all my outdoor tomatoes were disappointing last summer, even Gardeners Delight, which I normally find reliable, but I'm blaming the very poor weather and lack of sunshine.
