I have just tried to send an email to the 'contact' address of this site.

This is what I wrote:

Thanks for the forum - I have been using it longer than you - i.e since 2001 - it's great

But...

Why no more subza?

This other format is harder to use due to it's layout, - keep it simple. Surely, a compromise is possible - why not do subza in the clours of wimpole or whatever?

Cheers

Mole

What's going on?

I don't know what's happening either. When I logged on this evening I've got this new format, which I have to be honest, I don't like at all and find very confusing to follow.
Perhaps I'm just an old Mrs. Victoria Meldrew and don't like change, but I really did find the previous format much clearer to follow and more user-friendly.
As for you getting the comment that you've been banned, you're in good company and joining Old Herbaceous apparently. Expect I'll be next !

This format can only help to prevent more people from posting and indeed joining.

Out of all of the forums on the net, this is the most user unfriendly layout possible.
Kindest Regards, Piglet

Hi Mole,
You would have thought that the person who has decided to inflict this awful format upon us all would at least have the common decency to explain why they have done so. Apparently this is not going to be the case. I somehow feel that the 'Big Brother Age' has come to our forum.
The print is far too small for me to read and I have to wear my reading glasses and get within 9 inches of the screen to read all the small print. The actual postings I can read with my computer glasses which are lower powered than my reading glasses.
I do feel that the new format is a retrograde step and agree with Piglet that it is user unfriendly. I feel that this is a case of trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot.
I somehow feel that we no longer count.
To show you how strongly I feel I have decided to cancel my order for the Magazine with the local newsagent this morning and urge others to do likewise.
When sales begin to fall off then perhaps the nameless one will realise that his unwanted action has caused offence.
JB.

I have to agree with Piglet and JB. I do not like this new format. Why can't it be kept simple? The last one what it said on the tin, so to speak. Personally, I think it should be changed back to how it was.

The whole forum was working so well, so why "fix" it?
Lots of love

Hi Johnboy,

I am with you all the way on this one  I like a lot of people do not want this new format, although I do not post as much as you I log on at 2 or 3 times a day to see what is happening on the forum :) The KG Forum is the only Gardening web site I am registered on :) In my humble opion it was the Best, it is like an extended familey so why change it :(
I am afraid I to will have to review my subscribition  I do not want to but I find all this a complete pain in the butt. Johnboy I will hopefully be getting the Tobacco seed soon :?:

Best Wishes & Kind Regards

Kevin

We've been here before, in November 2006.

To increase the text size using Firefox, hold down CTRL/Shift/+ and hit as many time as you need. CTRL/- makes it smaller again.

To increase/decrease the text size in Windows Explorer, hold down CRTL and use the scroll button on the mouse to make the change.

This clearly worked last time, at least for JB who said

Johnboy wrote:Hi Peat,
You have done me a really great service by describing how you increase the size of the print with control button and using the scroller control.
Being a little more advanced in years than most contributors my eyesight is not as it used to be and the one plea I had with Mr Potatohead when he announced the new site was that whatever he did please do not make the print any smaller. It seems now that it no longer matters.
Thank you so much.
JB.

I hope this helps

If it doesn't please don't shout at me :?

Good grief - I've never heard such bitterness. The problem is now fixed. I am a -little- busy during this period, and have only just come across all this nonsense.

A PM to me or an email (accessible from my profile would had sufficed, as would a quiet phone call.

Security updates MUST take place to ensure your data and the board works, as it is under constant attack.

The subza template was disabled during this update and is now back online.

A gentle reminder this service is offered free and at our own time & effort to keep running, so I would appreciate your patience in future.

Sorry on everyone's behalf about "all this nonsense".

Many thanks for getting subza back. But we didn't know it was going to disappear - so perhaps the response wasn't unexpected.

Thanks again for getting it back.

I think Jason will just accept your thanks OH. Go after him with a bunch of mistletoe and subza could be lost forever.

Shallot Man

If you look at all the other postings on this subject I think an awful lot of things have been thrown out of prams, and not by KGAdmin.

'Nuff said.
