Hi Compo,
I have grown Tomatoes using Comfrey and Comfrey Concentrate for more than 30 years. The main posting was the making of a Straw Based M-P Compost enriched with Comfrey. The trial was on the Compost and not particularly the Tomatoes.
There is an awful amount of straw about that could be used to make the compost. In fact now there are hundreds if not thousands of tons burnt each year to produce small scale electricity generators and I think to make a compost and return it to the land would be a better use of it. In my time I have spent literally thousands of pounds buying Peat Free compost that never comes up to the sample you were given and mostly has had to be used not for the purpose it had been bought for. Sadly just after the compost was made I had a heart attack and was forced to retire.
In the fullness of time I will give you the answer you are after ,but I have to work on it to make it so that it will not be misinterpreted, as it appears other things seem to be.
JB.
