While checking the bags of potatoes today for any sign of disease or rotton ones I found one bag of Cara had started to sprout is that unuasal so early, I would expect that about Febuary/March time. The rest of Cara, British Queen and Pink Fir Apple were fine. We lost Rattie and Deseriee?early on due to the Blight.

OH. thank you for your good wishes

Dear Bren, it does seem quite unusual, but i have had potatoes do this in the past.
I'm not really sure what does cause it, when they do it this early. I thought it would be something to do with temperature, but strange why an odd bag full should start sprouting.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Kevin & OH I forgot to say that they are stored in a cold garage in hession sacks, the garage has been used as a work shop this past 2 years so no car in there. I will use that bag up first and keep an eye on the others.
